Mushrooms grow on the ground between the Leucadia Barbershop and La Especial Norte
About
This row of pink mushrooms sits on the Mozy wall, named for Mozy Cafe, one of the local businesses lost when a two-alarm fire tore through the block in 2019. Painted by Fuller, whose work blends bold retro graphics, botanical illustration, and psychedelic color, the piece reflects her "Happy Days" philosophy of using bright, playful public art, like these stylized mushrooms, to lift the mood of passersby.
Peek over the white fence out front and you can still glimpse fragments of the original Mozy wall mural, a 2020 project by six local artists, including Fuller, painted as a message of hope during COVID lockdowns and now slowly being reclaimed by nature. Fellow contributor Michael Amorillo has another piece nearby, Waves.
A few doors down is another piece by Jessica, Psychedelicred Fence.
