A monarch butterfly in flight, one of Leucadia's most enduring symbols, referencing the annual migration that brings thousands of monarchs to winter roosts along the California coast. Painted in 2021 by staff at Corner Frame Shop & Leucadia Art Gallery (@cornerframeshop), which has anchored this stretch of Coast Highway 101 since 1978. In their words: "We are inspired by the natural coastal beauty of our hometown and all the flora and fauna we share it with. We decided to paint a monarch as a gift to our community from us, with love."
