Michael Amorillo

About

A Leucadia local for over twenty years, Amorillo was born in Queens and raised on Long Island, where hip-hop and skateboarding shaped his visual language before surf culture added a third thread on the California coast. He goes by Monstrinho, "little monster" in Portuguese, a nickname from a Brazilian roommate that stuck. The box was painted for the Utility of Art program, Leucadia 101 MainStreet's initiative to bring public art to street infrastructure.
