Painted in 2017 by Michael Richard Rosenblatt, founder of Rosenblatt Studios, this 20-by-50-foot mural carries a formally mounted dedication plaque — unusual on the 101. The plaque reads: "Tribute to our creative heroes" and names Candye Kane, Jack Tempchin, Graham Nancarrow, Scott Clayton, Semisi Ma'u, Robert Cowan, Wally Passet, and Michael Schmitt — musicians who shaped the sound of Encinitas and beyond.
